• The Patterson family "As You Like It Productions", have purchased the four-year-old Santa Barbara Renaissance Faire. The Santa Barbara Renaissance faire is a two weekend event running from Aug 12 thru Aug 20 in the hills north of Santa Barbara, California. After visiting the faire the first weekend. I must say this is one of the most beautiful faires I've ever been to. The staff and entertainers are some of the friendliest people I've meet anywhere. I'm sure this faire will grow into being one of California's premiere events.

The Patterson family originated the idea of living history by creating the first renaissance faires in 1963. They held there first event in North Hollywood, California. Through the years renaissance faires and festivals have spread across the country. There are now hundreds of independent Renaissance faires and festivals held each year. America's love of this rollicking Shakespearean era has been simply phenomenal.
