The Morris dancers dance to bring luck and prosperity to the shire. Dressed in brilliant colors such as green and yellow, augmented with scarves, bows, ribbons, and bells tied to their arms and legs, Morris dancers are often seen at Faire performing the intricately choreographed sword dance. Newcastle Dancers, a combination of beginning and experienced dancers, perform authentic folk and country dances of the period. Danse Macabre is a troupe of dancers and muscians who parade through the street wearing costumes that symbolize death. Many people misunderstand this troupe mistaking them for devil worshipers, but the skeletal type costumes were devised during the time of the plague and worn with the hope that death would think them already dead and pass them over. Their songs and dances say "Live in the moment for tomorrow death may come for you".
