This Medieval Plucked Psaltry reproduction has a diatonic range of just over two octaves. We use 16 brass strings from F to g'. It produces a rich Celtic harp like tone. It can be used to play chords or melody. It can be held and played with one hand, or played with both hands if laid in the lap or on a table.

The frame is maple with standard mahogany back and soundboard. Different woods for the back and soundboard as well as perimeter, are optional.

The dimensions are approximately 23" X 11" X 2". The bridges are maple laminated between two strips of the same wood used on the back

Two models are available, the straight lined model, PPSTR, is the same basic size and quality as the model with the recurved top, PPREC.

If you have a lyre type instrument design in mind, please send it and we will price it for you.
